Next Support Group Meeting
The next support group meeting is planned for Friday, May 22,
2009 at 5:30 pm. We will be meeting at Torreon Park in Santa Fe.

This group has been in progress for almost two and a half years. It is an
opportunity to get together and support each other. What we
have found is that the biggest need is to just talk so we are
currently not offering educational presentations. Please let us know if
you are interested in such presentations and we will look into it. Currently, freestyle
get-togethers are working best and that is what is planned. There is
no set agenda for these meetings, the children get to play, the
parents get to talk, and it is an altogether lovely time.
Hi Everyone,
I hope you will join us for our next NNM Diabetes Support
Group meeting on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 5:30. This time we
will be meeting outside at Torreon Park in Santa Fe. Torreon
Park is off of West Alameda and you should be able to google-map
it (it didn't come up in Mapquest, but you can mapquest Sam
St and West Alameda and see it next to Sam St.).
You are encouraged to bring bikes, scooters, basketballs and
other fun outdoor stuff as well as blankets or chairs to sit
on and a picnic dinner (if you want). Please call or email
if you would like further information or directions.
It is a great group of people that gets together each month
and more people have been joining in, making it a wonderful
exchange of information, story-sharing and discussion about
the ups and downs of living with diabetes in the family. The
kids have a blast playing together, and they LOVE being
around other kids who also have to stop, check, snack or
take insulin. Please join us.

The Walk for a Cure was great fun and a wonderful success.
The first meeting about teams for the 2009 Walk is about to
happen,
